Dubai Police, supporting the nationwide “Summer Without Accidents” program led by the Ministry of Interior, kicked off on July 10 and will run through September 1, 2025.

Key Highlights:

Public awareness push: Featuring digital signboards, social media messaging, radio discussions, and traditional media—all aimed at preventing risky behaviors like speeding, using phones while driving, and tailgating

Enforcement & incentives:

Random roadside patrols will check tyre condition and vehicle safety, particularly targeting trucks and heavy vehicles.

Fines of AED 500, 4 black points, and impoundment for drivers using phones or with unsafe tyres.

Vehicle safety is bolstered by AutoPro (ENOC), offering free comprehensive 10-point checks at 54 locations across the emirate

Reason behind the urgency: Summer brings extreme heat (up to 50 °C), increasing tyre blowouts and vehicle failures. Plus, Dubai’s multicultural population introduces various driving styles, necessitating consistent public engagement

Context & recent stats: From June to September in prior years—2022 saw 5,285 accidents (36 deaths), 2023 had 4,595 accidents (27 deaths), and 2024 had 3,481 accidents (34 deaths)

What You Can Do:

Maintain safe distances, obey speed limits, avoid phone use, and get your tyres and fluids inspected.

Take advantage of AutoPro’s free summer inspections.

This collaborative campaign blends education, enforcement, and vehicle readiness to keep everyone safer on the roads this season.
